On June 27, 2019 a memorandum of cooperation signed by the Chief executive officer of the “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC Mr. Gankhuyag B. and General Director of the “Erdenet” mining corporation Mr. Badamsuren Kh.
The purpose of the memorandum is to promote responsible mining, increase the potential in the mining industry, share mutual knowledge, information and best practices.
In accordance with the terms of the agreement, the parties should strictly adhere to policies and regulations on labor protection, health and the environment in order to increase the efficiency of mining and the introduction of high technologies, innovations, management and experience.
The sides expressed readiness to cooperate in a number of directions within mining activities and coal concentration plant: including construction, infrastructure, remediation, water supply solutions, environmental management system, environmental monitoring, hazardous waste management, occupational safety and health. The memorandum will be valid for 3 years.
CEO of the “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC Mr. Gankhuyag B. said “The development of our company is “Erdenet” factory. We have been operating for 9 years, but our plant project is in the process of starting. According to the decision made by the Parliament and Cabinet, we have successfully started our coal concentration plant program, water supply, chemical technology, railways and road project. We will learn from the experience of "Erdenet" development and work to build the second Erdenet city in Umnugobi province”
Also, General Director of the “Erdenet” mining corporation Mr. Badamsuren Kh. noted “We will cooperate in the field of industrial technology and labor protection. The Memorandum of cooperation will be aimed at effectively influencing the development of the country and the region, thanks to the activities of two mining, which using strategic fields.”
