“ERDENES-TAVANTOLGOI” JSC INTERNATIONAL STANDARD 8.2 KM ROAD PUT INTO OPERATION

The “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC was officially put into operation on June 30, 2019 the 8.2 kilometer paved road which interconnects the company coal mine and Gashuunsukhait border checkpoint.
During the opening ceremony the Chief Executive Director of “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC Mr. Gankhuyag B. noted, “Opening this paved road, consistent with international standards, has a wide range of positive influence. For example, currently “Erdenes-Tavantolgoi” JSC exports 8.3 million tons of coal and this year we are planning to export totally 18 million tons of coal. So, this road is economically significant to increase the volume of exports and increase taxes to the state budget. It also provides a safety and comfortable working environment for drivers and creates a favorable environment for reducing negative environmental impacts.” 
Project director Mr. Bazarragchaa G. remarks that “The new road has 30 cm thick concrete foundation with an 18 cm thick asphalt layer on top, making it sturdy for heavy-duty trucks.”
“Erdenes-Tavantolgoi LLC has signed a cooperation agreement with Umnugobi province two years ago and this 8.2 km road is one of the building works under agreement. The construction of road will positively affect the safety of the environment, dust and hygiene of the sum” said Governor of province Mr. Naranbaatar N.
The representative of drivers Mr. Munguzaya B. expressed gratitude to construction workers, engineers, and project coordinators on behalf of the drivers.
