CONSTRUCTION WORK OF TAVAN TOLGOI-ZUUNBAYAN RAILWAY INTESIFIED
On September 22, 2020, members of the Standing Committee on Industrialization got acquainted with the construction process of the 414.6 km Tavan Tolgoi-Zuunbayan railway. Currently, 99.6 percent of the earthworks and 98 percent of the pipelines are under construction, and 100 km of superstructure railway has been installed. One of the features of this project is that local companies are building bridges in connection with the epidemic. The girders of the first bridges have been successfully installed.
J.Otgonbayar, a road engineer of “TavanTolgoi Railway” LLC, clarified about this: “The earthworks and pipelines for this project are nearing completion, and most of the bridge work remains. We needed to set good quality and technical requirements for this. They are 27 bridges in the project, of which 13 bridge girders have been completed. On the other hand, the superstructure of the railway has been built over the bridge built at the +369km of “Tuulin Guur Dalai” LLC. Preparations are underway to build infrastructure on other bridges.” engineer said.
As of September 13, the bridge is 83.5 percent complete and being successfully completed by local companies. 94 local companies, more than 6,000 engineers, technicians and 2,900 technicians are involved in the construction. Infrastructure earthworks are 99 percent complete, pipeline works are 97 percent complete, crossroads are 73 percent complete, and station construction is 41 percent complete. 54 km of infrastructure work is being carried out by the Ulaanbaatar Railway and 15.8 km by the General Staff of the Armed Forces. Work on the 2,500-meter-long bridge at 27 railway locations is 73 percent complete, and power lines are 60 percent complete. Ulaanbaatar Railway plans to complete the construction of the infrastructure by November 30.
The infrastructure of the 414.6 km TavanTolgoi-Zuunbayan railway has been comleted and 221 km of the superstructure is under construction, officials said.
