HIGH-SPEED RAILWAY CONNECTS INNER MONGOLIAN ULAANKHAD, BEIJING

The Ulaankhad-Beijing and Tongliao-Beijing high-speed railways in Inner Mongolia officially started operating on January 22, 2021. As the Zhangjiakou-Hohhot high-speed railway went into operation back in 2019 was the first high-speed railway linking Beijing and north China's Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. China's "14th Five-Year Plan" includes the completion of the Jining-Datong, Bugat-Yinchuan and Shilin-Taizichen high-speed railways in Inner Mongolia, also to start construction of the Ordos-Yan-An and Bugat-Ordos high-speed railways.

During this period, they planned to increase the length of high-speed railway to 2000 km in Inner Mongolia. One of the major high-speed train projects currently under construction in Inner Mongolia is the Bugat-Yinchuan High-Speed Train. The project launched in August 2018 and will be commissioned in 2023. The length of the railway is 531 kilometers, with a total investment of 54 billion yuan.
