COAL EXPORTS IN JANUARY AND FEBRUARY INCREASED BY 63.5 PERCENT COMPARED TO THE SAME PERIOD OF THE PREVIOUS YEAR AND REACHED 4.56 MILLION TONS

In the first two months of 2021, Mongolia exported a total of 4.56 million tons of coal, according to the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry.

This is an increase of 1.77 million tons or 63.5 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.

 

According to Fenwei Energy, the price of processed coking coal at Gantsmod port has dropped by 50 yuan to 1,350 yuan per ton since the Lunar New Year. The price of Mongolian raw coking coal fell by 70 yuan per ton to 1,110 yuan.

 

The number of Mongolian coal trucks entering the port of Gantsmod has reached 600. That's up 33 percent from the previous week. In addition, 225 thousand tons of copper concentrate was exported during this period. This is an increase of 32.7 thousand tons or 17 percent from the same period of 2020.
