A survey of 39,454 employees of 298 companies that implement strategically important projects in the mining and heavy industry sectors, as well as transport companies who applied for the vaccination against coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) has been submitted by the Ministry of Mining and Heavy Industry to the Ministry of Health. Accordingly, the Ministry of Health has decided that vaccinating drivers of mining exports a priority, and 11,000 doses of vaccines have been delivered to the Umnugovi Aimag’s Health Department, and immunization has started today.
Doctors in Umnugovi Aimag will continue to work at Shivee Khuren Port after vaccinating Gashuun Sukhait drivers within 6-7 days. Also, large scale mining companies expressed their interest in purchasing vaccines by themselves and started vaccinating their employees and following with the request Ministry of Health organized an online meeting with mine directors to provide information on approved vaccines and companies licensed to import vaccines in Mongolia.
As for the mine workers, the Minister of Mining and Heavy Industry, G.Yondon, met with the Minister of Defense, G.Saikhanbayar, and agreed to send two vaccination teams to the countryside.
As the Ministry of Health will provide the vaccine, it has been decided to start vaccinating the miners as soon as possible according to the route provided by the mine management.
